How it works

Three steps from broken to back on the bike.

01

Tell us what's wrong

Pick your bike, describe the symptom or paste an error code. Our diagnosis assistant scopes the job and flags whether it needs a specialist.

02

Pick a mechanic & slot

See verified techs near you with ratings, system training, mobile-vs-workshop options and earliest availability — usually within 48 hours.

03

Pay £35 labour, parts extra

One flat fee, paid after the visit. Parts invoiced at cost via our partner warehouse — no markups, no surprises, no return trips charged twice.

What we fix

Built for e-bike systems, not just bicycles.

Most general bike shops are excellent at frames and gears, but guess at electronics. Our mechanics are trained on the systems themselves.

Motor diagnostics

Error-code reads, firmware updates, sensor calibration on Bosch, Shimano Steps, Bafang, Yamaha and Brose.

Battery health

Capacity testing, contact cleaning, BMS reset, safe disposal and managed warranty replacement.

Drivetrain & gears

Chain, cassette, derailleur and shifter service tuned for the higher torque of e-bike systems.

Brakes (hydraulic)

Pad swaps, bleeds, rotor truing and ABS-equipped system checks for cargo and speed pedelecs.

Wheels & tyres

Truing, spoke replacement, tubeless setups and puncture-resistant tyre fitting.

Display & wiring

Replace cracked displays, repair wiring harness damage, restore controller comms.

Cargo & family bikes

Heavy-duty servicing for Tern, Riese & Müller, Urban Arrow, Yuba and other utility platforms.

Pre-purchase inspection

Honest, independent check on used e-bikes before you commit. Battery report included.

Diagnosis assistant

Describe the symptom. We'll route the right specialist.

A short structured check — error code, noise, behaviour, recent events — lets us scope the job before anyone gets in a van. You get a clear estimate. The mechanic gets a job that matches their kit. Nobody wastes a Saturday.

  • Map error codes across Bosch, Shimano, Bafang, Yamaha, Brose
  • Distinguish standard 1-visit jobs from multi-hour rebuilds
  • Suggest part numbers before the mechanic arrives
  • Offer a free 5-minute video triage for unclear cases

Three local shops told me to send the bike back to the manufacturer. Their tech fixed a Bosch error 504 in twenty minutes. £35.

I run a small delivery fleet of 12 cargo e-bikes. Having one place to book all our servicing has cut my admin in half.

Fair, fast, and they actually had the Shimano EP8 diagnostic cable in the van. The visit took 35 minutes start to finish.

I had been quoted £180 for a job another mechanic finished in under an hour for £35 plus a £14 part. That tells you everything.

FAQ

Straight answers, no jargon.

Still unsure? Our support team replies within an hour during working days. Or jump straight in — booking is free.

Is the £35 fee really flat?+

Yes — for any standard job up to roughly 60 minutes on site. If the work is genuinely complex, the mechanic will tell you upfront and you decide whether to book a follow-up visit (also £35).

What counts as 'parts extra'?+

Anything the mechanic fits — chains, brake pads, cables, batteries, displays, sensors. Parts are sourced via our partner warehouse and invoiced at the listed price. No mystery markups.

Mobile or workshop?+

Both. Most jobs are done on your doorstep. For motor pulls, frame work or warranty diagnostics, your mechanic may suggest a workshop drop-off instead.

Do you cover my brand of e-bike?+

If it uses Bosch, Shimano Steps, Bafang, Yamaha, Brose or Fazua, yes — that's most major brands. We also support many proprietary hub-motor systems.

What about warranty work?+

Many of our techs are authorised to perform warranty diagnostics for major brands. We'll flag warranty eligibility during booking and never invalidate a valid claim.

How are mechanics vetted?+

Validated system training, public liability insurance, a basic background check, plus an agreement to honour the £35 flat-fee promise. Ongoing rating thresholds keep standards up.

What if the fix doesn't hold?+

Workmanship is guaranteed for 30 days. If the same issue returns, your mechanic returns at no extra labour cost.

Can I order parts myself?+

Yes — buy from eBike.Parts and the booking auto-populates with your SKU and bike details. You still pay £35 labour.
